"Best Place for Music
In Memphis, Tennessee:
Beale Street
Submitted by Mary Hahn,
Kappa Omicron (Rhodes College)
Beale Street is one of the most famous streets in Memphis and the soul of old Memphis. It's known as the home of the blues and the birthplace of rock 'n roll, so of course the Memphis AOIIs are proud to brag about the great music that can be found there. Mary Hahn notes that The New Daisy has artists from every genre. Just like the New Daisy, the B.B. King Jazz Club features music performances every night. Memphis Music is a store that carries a huge selection of CDs, cassettes and videos of Blues, Jazz, and Rock 'n Roll favorites. There is no shortage of music on Beale Street and because of its wide variety, there is something for everyone."
